adequate protection
the right of a party with an interest in the debtor's property (such as a secured creditor) to assurance that its interest will not be diminished during the bankruptcy proceedings. (Glossary of Common Bankruptcy Terms)

Relief fashioned to protect the value of a secured creditor's lien so it does not diminish during the bankruptcy proceeding. This relief can take the form of periodic payments, interest payments, a replacement lien on other property, or any other form determined by the court to be "adequate."

A right which protects an entity's (usually a secured creditor) interest in the debtor's property from diminishment in value. In other words, such interest must have the same value at the end of the bankruptcy process as it had when the bankruptcy petition was filed (SA-Bankruptcy.com)
